Political Signs Public Hearing

NOTICE is hereby given that Delaware Township intends to hold a Public Hearing regarding the amendment of Ordinance No. 111.3 J.3 regulating political signs on October 9, 2013 at 6:45 p.m. immediately following the Public Hearing Blue Ridge Cable Ordinance 800. Specifically, political signs are exempt from the permit requirements of the sign ordinance.
(1) Political signs may not exceed 24 square feet.
(2) Political signs may not be placed where the political signs create traffic hazard.
(3) Political signs may not be placed on Delaware Township property.
(4) Political Signs must be removed within a reasonable time after the election for which they apply, whether it is a primary or general election.
However, the Township in recognition of the uniqueness of political signs specifically state in the amendment that the political sign ordinance shall be superseded by the Pennsylvania Election Code, State statutes that regulate political signs and/ or Federal statutes that regulate political signs.
