AKENAC PARK WATER SYSTEM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT 8/2015

 

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by Delaware Township, Pike County, 116 Wilson Hill Road, Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328 for the AKENAC PARK WATER SYSTEM RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT.  

 The project consists of an upgraded control system, relocated chlorine contact tanks, replacement hydro-pneumatic tanks, iron and manganese filtration system, disinfection system together with connecting piping and electrical systems.

 All documents and solicitation details are available at no cost at PennBid - www.PennBid.net.  Click on the “Solicitations” then “View” tabs.  Bids shall be submitted online via the PennBid™ Program until 1:30 PM., September 9, 2015.  Bids will be publicly read at the Board of Supervisors’ meeting at 6:00 p.m.

 Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond issued by a Surety licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the amount of at least 10 percent (10%) of the total bid. 

 The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a Satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond and Labor and Material Bond in an amount of 100% of the contract amount.  A Certificate of Insurance showing proof of coverage as specified in the bidding documents must also be submitted.

 Bid proposals in excess of twenty-five thousand dollars shall incorporate minimum salaries and wages as set forth by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry (prevailing wages).  The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin or handicap.

 Award of the Contract, will be to the lowest responsible bidder, but the Owner reserves the unqualified right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities permitted by law.  Bids may be held by the Township for a period of 60 days from the date of Bid opening for the purpose of reviewing Bids and investigating qualifications of bidders prior to awarding Contract.  The Township intends to award the contract at a Board of Supervisors’ Meeting on September 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., at the Delaware Township Municipal Building, 116 Wilson Hill Road, Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328.

  Prospective bidders are invited to attend a Non-Mandatory, Pre-Bid Conference on August 27, 2015, at the Akenac Park, Route 739, Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328.  All questions concerning the bid documents, or the project in general, should be submitted to the Engineer via PennBid no later than 5:00 PM, September 2, 2015. The Project Engineer is Boucher & James, Inc., Township Engineer, 2738 Rimrock Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Delaware Township Municipal Parking Lot repaving project

The project consists of removing approximately 545 square yards of existing bituminous pavement, placement of 3,510 square yards of 2-1/2 inch binder course and placement of 3,680 square yards of 1-1/2 inch wearing course.

                                AKENAC PARK RECREATION HALL-SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM

Delaware Township, Pike County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to construct a sewage disposal system for its Recreation Hall in Akenac Park, Route 739 Dingmans Ferry, PA.

Work effort consists of constructing two 1,500 gallon septic tanks , one 1,500 gallon pump tank, approximately 585 lineal feet of 2 inch, schedule 40 force main and an elevated sand mound with dimensions of 25 feet x 100 feet.

Plans and a copy of the approved permit, may be picked up at the Towns hip Municipal Building located at 116 Wilson Hill Road, Dingmans Ferry, PA. 18328.

Bidders should submit a lump sum fee for all supervision, labor and materials to provide a 100% complete and workable product.

Bids should be submitted to the Delaware Township Municipal Building no later than Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

                                                                              MODIFICATION OF 2014 PIKE COUNTY CDBG PLAN

  

Notice is hereby given that the Pike County Board of Commissioners is proposing to amend its approved FFY 2014 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) plan. The plan has been approved in the amount of $253,313.00, and the current plan proposes that all of the 2014 funds will be used for single family housing rehabilitation activities throughout the County, and for program administration.  It is now proposed to reduce the rehabilitation budget by $26,260.00 from $210,000.00 to $183,740.00 for 7 homes instead of 8 homes. The County proposes to utilize the amount of $26,260.00 for public services that will benefit low-moderate income persons.  The County plans to submit an application to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development requesting approval of this amendment.

CDBG funds can be used for a variety of activities including street and road improvements, water and sewer systems, public and community facilities and services, removal of architectural barriers, demolition, housing rehabilitation, code enforcement, economic development, and planning.

In order to give residents an opportunity to express their views on how these funds should be used, the County will hold a public hearing in the County Administration Building, 506 Broad Street, Milford at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday August 20, 2015. In addition, written comments may be submitted prior to the hearing; such comments must be received in the office of Christine Kerstetter at the above address no later than August 17, 2015.
